VE Sessions

 FCC LICENSE TESTING:

Post- Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, and FCC Amateur Radio license test sessions for entry-level ham operator licenses as well as upgrades have been scheduled by the Delaware-Lehigh Amateur Radio Club.
FCC Amateur Radio License exams are scheduled to be offered locally in 2023 on dates listed.
They will be administered by FCC certified examiners, “VEs” (Volunteer Examiners) at the 911 Emergency Center in Nazareth, except as noted for June.

In addition, exams will be held at the end of each series of free DLARC classes, offered twice annually.

DLARC VE sessions normally are held the Friday after the first Thursday monthly club meeting on ODD NUMBERED months. Testing starts at 7 PM. Please arrive around 6:45 or so to fill out paperwork ahead of test time. We also hold VE Testing Sessions during Field Day in June around 2 p.m., and at the conclusion of all free training classes, 7:00 PM.

Pre-registration for the exam sessions is required. Please contact KE3AW@arrl.net to confirm your attendance and for details, specific route suggestions and answers to any other questions you may have.

Required at the testing:

Your FRN (FCC Registry Number) – we will assist you in getting this required number. FCC no longer accepts Social Security numbers on license applications.

$15 testing fee (exact change or check made out to “ARRL-VEC”, not to DLARC nor any individual).

Photo ID if you are taking the test for the first time, or if you are testing for an upgrade, a photocopy of your current license from the FCC ULS database (will not be returned).

 

You may bring a calculator (no smart phones or tablets or the like) and if it is a programmable calculator, you must demonstrate that all programmable memories are cleared. If you don’t have a calculator that meets these requirements, we can provide one.

Scratch paper will be provided.
Once you receive the test materials, you may not leave the room until you turn them in to be scored.
